Would you like to be a pollworker?
The Venango County Election Board is always seeking individuals that may be interested in serving as a Poll Worker on one of the 48 Election Precincts. There are 5 positions on each of the boards to include: 1) the Judge of Elections; 2) a Majority Inspector; 3) a Minority Inspector; 4) and two Clerks that are assigned to each of the Inspectors.
To qualify for the position you must be a registered voter and reside within the election district for which you want to serve. Poll Workers must attend a training on the election process and the electronic machines. They are required to work twice a year, once in the Spring for the Primary Election and once in the Fall for the November General Election. It is a long day. Poll Workers must arrive at the precinct between 6:00 and 6:15 a.m. to complete the final preparations to open the election polling place by 7:00 a.m. Workers are required to stay at the polling place until voting ends at 8:00 p.m. and to then assist in the tabulation of election returns that are to be delivered to the Central Counting Center that same Election Night.
Payment: Judge - $100; Inspectors - $80; and Clerks - $70.00
