Would you like to be a pollworker?

The Venango County Election Board is always seeking individuals that may be interested in serving as a Poll Worker on one of the 48 Election Precincts.  There are 5 positions on each of the boards to include:  1) the Judge of Elections; 2) a Majority Inspector; 3) a Minority Inspector; 4) and two Clerks that are assigned to each of the Inspectors.

To qualify for the position you must be a registered voter and reside within the election district for which you want to serve.  Poll Workers must attend a training on the election process and the electronic machines.  They are required to work twice a year, once in the Spring for the Primary Election and once in the Fall for the November General Election.  It is a long day.  Poll Workers must arrive at the precinct between 6:00 and 6:15 a.m. to complete the final preparations to open the election polling place by 7:00 a.m.   Workers are required to stay at the polling place until voting ends at 8:00 p.m. and to then assist in the tabulation of election returns that are to be delivered to the Central Counting Center that same Election Night.

Payment: Judge - $100;  Inspectors - $80; and Clerks - $70.00
